Teachers' Convention
Our annual Teachers’ Convention is hosted by a different school each year. Relevant themes, speakers and workshops are provided, with engaging worship, conversation, and, of course, excellent catering of meals and snacks throughout the event.
Our 2025 Convention will be hosted in Lacombe, Alberta by Central Alberta Christian High School (CACHS) and Lacombe Christian School (LCS) on October 23-24.
We are excited to have Dr. Dave Mulder as our keynote speaker. He will lead us through three sessions.

Dr. Dave Mulder
Keynote Speaker
Dr. David J. Mulder serves as a professor and the department chair in the Education Department at Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa. Dr. Mulder teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses, sharing his expertise in effective teaching through classroom and online instruction, educational technology, curriculum and instructional design, and professional development. His scholarly work focuses on AI in education, technology integration, and social presence in online learning.
“I'm so grateful that I have the opportunity to be part of the formation of distinctively Christian teachers who see their work as part of building Christ's kingdom,” says Dr. Mulder.
Dr. Mulder is the author of Always Becoming, Never Arriving: Developing an Imagination for Teaching Christianly, which considers how "teaching Christianly is a journey, a process of growing as a more faithful disciple and more closely following Jesus day by day."
2025 PCCE Convention Workshop Sessions
Engage in sessions to grow professionally and personally in your calling as a Christian Educator.
The Convention will have 3 Workshop Sessions:
- Thursday, October 23rd from 11:00 to 12:00 PM
- Thursday, October 23rd from 1:15 to 2:15 PM, and
- Friday, October 24th from 9:00 to 10:00 AM

What are the Convention registration costs?
Ticket prices are as follows:
Before September 30:
- $165.00 - Early Bird PCCE Member Teacher
- $165.00 - Early Bird PCCE Educational Assistant
- $250.00 - Early Bird Non-PCCE Member Teacher
- $125.00 - Early Bird Student Teacher
After September 30:
- $200.00 - PCCE Member Teacher
- $200.00 - PCCE Educational Assistant
- $300.00 - Non-PCCE Member Teacher after September 30
- $125.00 - Student Teacher

How will food allergies and intolerances be accommodated?
A local catering company will be providing catering services for the Convention. The following is a list of food allergies/intolerances that can be accommodated:
- Gluten
- Lactose/Dairy
- Nuts
- Vegetarian
If you have an allergies/intolerances that falls outside of these, we recommend bringing your own snacks and meals. We will have fridge space available for use for those who need.
Do I have to use my credit card to complete my order?
No. We recognize that each of our school communities is unique and for some it will work best for teachers to individually pay for the convention on their personal credit cards. In this case, please feel free to pay through Eventbrite. For other schools where their school or society pays the Convention fees, individuals can select 'Pay by Invoice' and then the PCCE Office will invoice schools/societies for these registration fees.
What is the refund policy?
All requests for refunds must be made in writing. A full refund will be granted for registrations cancelled on or before October 1, 2025. For cancellations received between October 1-10, 2025 a $25 administrative fee will be charged. After October 10, 2025, no refunds will be granted except under special circumstances. All cancellation requests must be made in writing to the PCCE Office at office@pcce.ca.

Below is information on hotels near Lacombe, Alberta. As Lacombe is a small town there are limited options for accommodations directly in town. Both Red Deer and Blackfalds have many accommodations to select from and are less than a 30 minute drive away from Lacombe. Smaller school staff teams may also want to consider looking at AirBnB or VRBO options near by. Note: We have NOT blocked any rooms at these hotels nor do we have negotiated rates with them. Some hotels may offer discounts when booking multiple rooms.
